CityXpress earns Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking for second year
Company ranks 25th with revenue growth of more than 800 percent in 2002-2006
VANCOUVER, British Columbia - September 20, 2007 - CityXpress Corp., a leading developer of revenue-generating marketplaces for media companies, today announced that it has earned a place among the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of Canada's fastest-growing technology companies, for the second consecutive year. The Deloitte rankings are based on percentage of revenue growth over five years, from 2002 to 2006.
CityXpress ranked 25th in the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 with revenue growth of 829 percent, primarily as a result of the expansion of its newspaper auction program in international markets, including Europe, South America, Africa and Australasia. CityXpress ranked 22nd in the 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 50.
"We're thrilled to be named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the second year in a row," said Phil Dubois, president and CEO of CityXpress. "This prestigious award recognizes the steady growth we are enjoying as we find new customers and markets for our auction and classified products in the current challenging advertising climate."
"Transforming technological innovation into business success is hard, and it's especially difficult to sustain such rapid revenue growth over five years. CityXpress has rapidly built a highly successful company in the Canadian technology industry and we applaud its dedication and ability to transform vision into reality," said John Ruffolo, national leader, Technology, Media and Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte.
In 2006-2007 CityXpress has continued to expand in international markets; the company now conducts auctions in 16 countries and nine languages. The company is also successfully extending its products to the broadcast market, signing a number of leading television stations in the U.S. and Australia to use its classified marketplace platform.
Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winners are automatically eligible for the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks the 500 fastest-growing technology, media and telecommunications companies in the United States and Canada.
